Power phrases that pack a punch

Resume writing and interviews can get the best of you sometimes. But this doesn’t have to be the reality. It is important to remember that employers are looking for the best candidate possible. Wouldn’t you if you were in charge?
Here is a list of power phrases that I came across while doing some career research.

Qualities:

  • work well with people
  • effective at dealing with the public
  • pay great attention to detail
  • strong social skills
  • work well alone or as part of a team
  • poised and professional
  • skilled versatile writer
  • use time wisely
  • grasp technical matter quickly
  • versatile troubleshooter
  • quickly cut through non-essentials to the heart of the problem
  • succeeded where others failed
  • proven record of success
  • turned complaints around
  • unique ability to help others
  • good listener
  • analyze situations rapidly
  • veteran of difficult times
  • bring order out of chaos
  • take pride of my work no matter what the task
  • deliver results not excuses
  • handle rapid change easily
  • meet demanding objectives
  • willing to try new approaches
  • lead by example
  • ability to get things done
  • perform against tight deadlines
  • hard working achiever
  • highly articulate and conversant
  • special visual and design taste

Of course, no one is all of these so use them wisely. You don’t want to get the job because you said you exhibited some of these qualities and then can’t rise to the occasion. Now, go out and get that job!
